Thomas Rawls talks about his toughest competition
Thomas Rawls talked quite a bit about coming back from injury, the backfield situation for the Seahawks, and who he expects to be his toughest competition.
Rawls met with the media today after the Seahawks wrapped up their final OTA. The first question was on his health. No surprise there.
"“I feel even better, I actually get an offseason. I remember just coming off those injuries and everything. It was kind of tough. In a way it kind of have humbles you…But I’m having a great offseason.”"
It shocked me that Eddie Lacy wasn’t the subject of the first question. But the reporters wasted no more time. Rawls had a different spin on the situation.

Thomas Rawls on Eddie Lacy and the real competition
"“A great benefit to the team. I know a lot of people in the backfield, it’s about competition in a lot of different regards. It fills the depth chart with three players. I look at it as Thomas Rawls, Thomas Rawls, and Thomas Rawls. I’ve always been in competition with myself. I just believe that this program, this whole organization we have a whole lot of players that have a mindset of competition. As people truly earn whatever they deserve, in the end it will work itself out.”"
As you can see, Rawls isn’t a bit concerned about losing his spot. Nor should he be. as he said, he truly can only compete with himself. The next question got a big laugh from Rawls.
Who likes contact more, you or Eddie?
"“I think we’re both some real powerful, physical backs. We look to seek it, and also, just delivering it. I’m glad he’s up in this backfield. Just high intensity man, all the time. Whenever we’re out there on Sundays, we’re never divided. This whole backfield and this whole team, we’re all one, with one common goal, and that’s to win a championship.”"
Watch the entire interview below. I love the attitude. “We’re all one.” I believe Rawls one hundred percent. He cares about getting the ball, sure. But as long as the Seahawks are winning, I think he’s fine watching Eddie, C.J. Alex, maybe even Chris Carson taking it in for six.
