Richard Sherman addressed the press at the end of practice and had a lot to say about how the media covers the Seahawks. He set the record straight about the trade talk and his respect for Russell Wilson as well.

First up, the trade talk. When asked about the circumstances of the trade, Richard Sherman set the record straight.

"“It’s just a conversation they have every year. I guess this year more people knew about it, but it’s conversations they have every year. Everybody’s open, everybody’s available, and they just made sure that I knew, and you guys found out. They were pretty open with it. There was never really a situation where anybody asked for it, it was just a conversation.”"

Sherman clarified that he never asked for a trade. So that should settle that.

With any luck, this will be the last time Richard Sherman or any other member of the Seahawks has to address the “locker room turmoil” story as well. I’ll be quite happy if it’s the last time we address it, too.

When asked again about the story, Sherman had a lot to say.

"“When you live in the new landscape of media, great reporters and great journalists have a hard time making a living. They can create great stories about guys, their backgrounds. About a competitive team that goes at it every day. About Pete’s philosophy, etc., etc. But it wouldn’t get a lot of clicks, because it’s not controversial enough.”"

When asked specifically about his relationship with Wilson, Sherman was happy to clarify it for everyone.

"“It’s fantastic. We fight for one another, just like I’m fighting for the other 52 guys out there I’m fighting for him, and he’s fighting for us. We have a great appreciation for how tough our quarterback is and what he’s played through. He’s doing that for the guys next to him.”"

Finally, Sherman made the point that you cannot look at a snapshot of a brief interaction on the practice field and assume that represents the team dynamic.

"“We play a violent adrenaline-infused game that takes everything you got. In order to play it at a high level, you got to give everything you got. To catch us on the field and make a story out of it, out of some nonsense like that, is laughable.”"

Richard Sherman is just as watchable off the field as on the field

That’s easy enough to prove. Just watch his comments below for yourself. There’s much more
