3. Curt Warner

Warner was expected to help turn the Seahawks franchise around. He was taken as the third pick overall in the 1983 draft. The issue Warner had was expectations.

First, the two players he was drafted behind were players of a different ilk. The first pick in 1983 was John Elway. The second pick was Eric Dickerson. Warner never really had a chance. Plus, he was inured in his second season.

Overall, Warner was a good back. As a rookie he ran for 1,449 yards and 13 touchdowns. In his third and fourth years he combined for over 2,500 yards and 21 touchdowns. Warner made the Pro Bowl in 1993, 1996 and 1997.

His career was cut short after seven years due to injuries. His second year injury was a torn ACL, for instance.

Warner currently runs an autism foundation that does amazing work. He has two autistic twins. Andy Patton of Seahawks Wire has a great story on that which you should read.
