Five Most Valuable Seahawks for 2017 (besides Russell Wilson)
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks quarterback is clearly the most important player on the team. There are other players who Seattle cannot lose, though, if they want to win the Super Bowl.
This offseason the Seahawks made an effort to add to their offensive depth. If running backs C.J. Prosise and Thomas Rawls get injured again, for instance, there is Eddie Lacy. (Lacy, of course, may be the starter anyway.)
If Justin Britt were to be hurt, Seattle drafted Ethan Pocic to take his spot. Pocic can actually play multiple positions. Besides Pocic, the Seahawks signed Oday Aboushi and Luke Joeckel to either start or back-up. There is much more quality depth along the offensive line than 2016. At least, on paper there is.
At wide receiver, Paul Richardson, Tyler Lockett, Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse should all be healthy enough to start the season. To lose even Baldwin, the Seahawks still have enough at the position to be productive.
Strangely, Seattle’s defense has less experienced depth than the offense. Not all five players the Seahawks can least afford to miss time in the article are on the defense, but most of them are. So besides Wilson, who are the five most valuable Seahawks for the 2017 season?
