The 2016 season was a forgettable one.

The Seahawks finished with an ugly 10-5-1 record, including that horrible tie in Arizona, and lost early in the playoffs.

At times, they looked like a top-tier team, and other times they seemed like a middle-of-the-pack team.

A lot of barriers contributed to the Seahawks’ inconsistent performance, such as their brutally awful offensive line. Or maybe the many, many injuries they suffered.

Either way, here are the Seahawks’ best and the worst performances from last season.

Best Performance

Week 10: Seahawks @ Patriots

FOXBORO, MA – NOVEMBER 13: Rob Gronkowski

The Seahawks went into New England and played against a healthy Tom Brady and co. and came out victorious. A lot of things went right.

The Legion of Boom was on top of things, including a picture perfect play by both safeties when Kam Chancellor defended a Brady pass to Rob Gronkowski  and Earl Thomas proceeded to lay the wood on Gronk. Deshawn Shead also had an interception off Brady.

Chancellor later knocked a ball out of Julian Edelman’s hands, which was recovered by Richard Sherman.

In the final defensive stand, on fourth down, up by seven, with seconds to go, backed up on their own goal line, Kam Chancellor came up clutch once again. By defending a pass in the end zone to Rob Gronkowski, he effectively ended the game giving the Seahawks a 31-24 win.

Russell Wilson was superb as he found Doug Baldwin for three touchdowns, and plenty of passing yards to CJ Prosise out of the backfield.

Wilson finished with three touchdowns and 348 passing yards, as well as a 124.6 passer rating, which in large helped pull off the greatest victory in the season in New England.

This performance showed they can beat any team at any time.

Honorable mentions: Wildcard round vs Detroit, Week 13 vs Carolina, Week 3 vs San Francisco

Worst Performance

Week 12: Seahawks @ Buccaneers

TAMPA, FL – NOVEMBER 27: Quarterback Russell Wilson
TAMPA, FL – NOVEMBER 27: Quarterback Russell Wilson /

After scoring only five points (two were scored by the defense), this was the Seahawks single worst offensive performance of the past five seasons.

Although the Seahawks were missing center Justin Britt, they absolutely stalled on offense against an underwhelming Tampa Bay defense.

The defense played great, only giving up 14 points to the Bucs, however they had nothing to show for it after the game.

The Buccaneers had more sacks than the Seahawks had points (six to five).

Russell Wilson was constantly harassed by pass rushers, and the run game was nonexistent. However, Wilson had his season-high in rushing yards with 80.

That was about the only bright spot of the game. This performance showed Seattle can lose to any team at any time.

Honorable mentions: Week 14 @ Packers, Week 7 @ Cardinals, Divisional round @ Atlanta
