Seahawks: Five most intriguing games in 2017
By Andy Larkin
4. Week 10 @ Arizona Cardinals
Since the Bruce Arians era began in Arizona I’ve always found this divisional match up intriguing. Arians is a good coach, but might be just as arrogant as he is smart. It also adds a little venom knowing the coach who looks like a cab driver at Mardis Gras isn’t afraid to tell the media how he feels.
Similarly to the Rams, the Cardinals have been pesky over the years. The Cardinals even dethroned the Seahawks as the NFC West Champions in 2015. Unlike the Rams, the Cardinals have found a majority of their success against the Seahawks in Seattle. I realize this game is being played in Arizona, but that’s because the game in Seattle is week 17. Week 17 games can be fool’s gold of sorts. By then a lot of playoff positioning has already been decided. If anything is up for grabs this game will no doubt be a knock down drag out fight.
3. Week 16 @ Dallas Cowboys
A match up in Dallas is one that immediately jumps off the page. The Cowboys are coming off a surprise 13-3 season in which rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot took the league by storm. With young superstars and the leagues best offensive line, the Cowboys look poised to once again be a tough out in the NFC. The Seahawks on the other hand, are in no mood to be passing the torch to other NFC powers.
Look for this game to have a playoff atmosphere as both teams will be eager to see where they stand heading into two probable postseason runs. It’s tough to forecast where these teams will be in December, but it’s reasonable to expect them to both be jockeying for playoff positioning. If the Seahawks win this game it could be viewed as a signature win of 2017, similar to what the team’s victory in Foxborough last year.
