Ranking and predicting the NFC West quarterbacks, Seahawks-style
By Lee Vowell
1. Russell Wilson – Seattle Seahawks
Wilson was injured a lot of 2016 but was able to play through the pain and limitations. While he did not have his best season, he was still very good. What Wilson was able to do without having his normal mobility proved how good of a player he is. Can Wilson be a pocket passer? Yep. Is he a top five quarterback if he cannot run around? Yes.
In 2017, though, Wilson should be back to his normal chaos-forming self. The Seahawks offensive production suffered because Wilson could not add much to the running game. Wilson should improve on his numbers from last year. Plus, Wilson will have a healthier group of speedy receivers than in previous seasons.
Wilson has been to two Super Bowls in his career, and has won one. He adds more to his team, and allows the Seahawks to have better flexibility, than any other quarterback in the division. He is clearly the best quarterback among the four starters in the NFC West.
Prediction: Wilson’s rushes for 600 yards and throws for 27 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The Seahawks will win the NFC West again and make a deep run in the playoffs.
