Seahawks versus Packers week one: Live stream
By Lee Vowell
The Seattle Seahawks begin their march towards a deep run in the playoffs (hopefully)on Sunday. But Seattle faces a tough test in week. They play Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Green Bay.
The Seahawks excellent defense got even more excellent recently. The team added defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson in a trade with the New York Jets. Richardson being added means that the interior pass rush should be much improved this year.
And Seattle needs to get some pressure on Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback has the ability to dice apart any team if he has time to throw. Just ask the Seahawks after the Packers blew them out in 2016.
Offensively, Seattle will look to run the ball more. At least, that’s what 12s are being led to believe. It could just be that the Seahawks plan to have Russell Wilson throw 60 times a game. If that is the game plan, at least Seattle has a (finally!) healthy corps of good receivers to which Wilson can throw. Doug Baldwin, in particular, may be able to catch 100 passes or more this year.
Jimmy Graham, another player healthier so far this season, could also have a huge season. If he does, the Seahawks will have to pay a bunch to keep him from leaving. This is the final year of Graham’s current contract.
