Seahawks offensive predictions versus Redskins
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks play an injury-weakened Washington Redskins team on Sunday. Washington will have four healthy defensive linemen available to play. Can Seattle finally find a running game against the Redskins?
Seahawks running backs, save for Chris Carson, have been bad this year. Or the offensive line has been terrible. One of those. Washington had a very difficult time stopping the Dallas Cowboys from running the ball this past Sunday. Of course, that’s Dallas with Ezekiel Elliott. Will any Seattle back have success against the Redskins?
Here are some most likely wrong and stupid predictions for the Seahawks offense this Sunday.
Russell Wilson
The skinny: Seattle needed Wilson to be at his absolute best to win against the Houston Texans. If Wilson has to be that good again this week, something bad has happened. Seattle needs to run the ball more effectively against Washington. Still, this is Wilson’s team and he’ll still need to be more than half the offense.
Prediction: 21 of 28 passing for 305 yards and three touchdowns and an interception. Wilson will also run for 34 yards.
Running Backs
The skinny: Seattle running backs ran for three yards against the Texans. The Seahawks haven’t been effective since Chris Carson was lost for the year. Now Seattle has a new left tackle in Duane Brown. He can run block better than any other left tackle Seattle has had in years. And as I mentioned, Washington is lacking depth on the defensive line. Eddie Lacy will start for Seattle.
Predictions:
Lacy: 10 carries for 37 yards.
Thomas Rawls: 14 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown.
J.D. McKissic: five carries for 18 yards.
Wide Receivers including Tight Ends
The skinny: Paul Richardson is quickly becoming a must-sign player for the Seahawks this offseason. Richardson is fourth in catches on Seattle’s team with 22 but leads the team in touchdown catches (5), second in receiving yards (374) and leads the team in yards-per-catch (17.0). Of course, Seattle also has Tyler Lockett, Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham. That’s a good receiving corps. Washington is 15th in defensive quarterback rating, but third worst when playing away from home.
Predictions:
Richardson: Five catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Baldwin: Five catches for 60 yards.
Lockett: Four catches for 53 yards.

Graham: Five catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.
