The Seahawks take on the Cardinals in Arizona on Thursday. As lost of a season Arizona appeared to be having, Seattle is still only one game better in the loss column.

The Seahawks need a win on Thursday. As I wrote (probably stupidly) on Wednesday, Seattle needs to do three thing well against Arizona. Do these things and they will win. Don’t and this is a lost year. Too early to say that? Well, it is not. Seattle cannot go 5-4 and expect to make the playoffs this season.

The Cardinals are without a good quarterback, however. Arizona has to rely on running the ball and defense. They do have the defense to beat Seattle, though. Heck, even the Washington Redskins did. The amazing part was that the Seattle offense looked so good against the Houston Texans one week and putrid against the Redskins the next. This is the way the NFL works in 2017.

I won’t pick Seattle to win on Thursday. Not because they can’t; It is because I jinx them. Should the Seahawks decide to focus on passing and hurry-up offense and Russell Wilson be on, then Seattle will win. However, Earl Thomas may not play and Richard Sherman may not either. Trouble is looming.

Prediction: Cardinals 21 Seahawks 17
