The Seahawks are 6-3 but water is beginning to wash over the deck of Seattle’s ship. The amount of injuries and to the quality of the players Seattle is losing is very bad. Here’s who is playing and not for the Seahawks on Monday.

The Seahawks lost Richard Sherman, of course. Now they are without Kam Chancellor too. Heading into a game with a team that features Julio Jones and Matt Ryan, things could not be much worse.

Out

Sherman is of course out for the year with an Achilles tear. Now Chancellor appears lost for the season as well with a neck injury.

Thankfully, Bradley McDougald has played well this year. He will step in for Chancellor. Whether he can play the run as well remains to be seen.

Byron Maxwell be one of the players expected to replace Sherman. No one, of course, can truly take the place of one of the best corners in the NFL, but Seattle still believes it can win with Maxwell and Jeremy Lane.

Luke Joeckel will miss Monday’s game too. As I have written several times, however, Ethan Pocic has played decently enough in Joeckel’s place. Pocic is a rookie and a long-term Seahawk. He might as well start even when Joeckel is able to return.

Questionable

Seattle could be without left tackle Duane Brown this week. Brown suffered an ankle injury against the Arizona Cardinals. With Rees Odhiambo already on IR, Brown could be the Seahawks biggest loss if he can’t go. Atlanta had eight sacks last game on the Dallas Cowboys.

Defensive tackle Jarran Reed may also miss Monday. Reed has been very good this season. But Nazair Jones has been excellent as a rookie. He will be expected to fill Reed’s role.

Falcons injuries

Devonta Freeman, Atlanta’s good running back, is out with a concussion.

Questionable are punter Matt Bosher (left ankle) and Duke Riley (knee).
