Seahawks injuries keep mounting after Falcons game
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks lost a couple more players on Monday night against the Falcons. This is the story of 2017. Seattle is beginning to face a lost season.
Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was lost for the season a week ago. This meant that Seattle was going to rely on rookie Shaquill Griffin more against Atlanta. Two plays in on Monday, Griffin was gone too. Think about that for a second. Sure, Seattle lost. But a team that was lacking Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Griffin gave up under 300 yards of total offense to a good Atlanta team. How bittersweet is that?
Coach Pete Carroll updated the latest injuries on Monday on 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock and Salk show.
Griffin
The rookie corner left with a concussion in the first quarter on Monday. His availability for Sunday is in question. Griffin will go through concussion protocol before being cleared to play. This can take several days.
I am thankful for two things. One, that Byron Maxwell played well against the Falcons. Two, that Seattle’s next opponent is the San Francisco 49ers.
Mike Davis
How good did Davis look in limited time on Monday? He was awesome. But like every other running back (save for J.D. McKissic) for Seattle, Davis was hurt. Davis suffered a groin injury. Carroll said Davis is “getting the MRI (Monday), we’ll find out. It’s unlikely that he could jump right back in as a runner.” Great. Just…great.
Oday Aboushi
Aboushi dislocated his shoulder and is out for the 49ers game. Luke Joeckel (remember him?) might return against San Francisco, however. This may mean Ethan Pocic can slide over to Aboushi’s spot.

If you are a Seahawks fan, though, you might be asking, “What next?” I don’t want to mention names, but if a certain quarterback goes down, the season goes down with him.
