The Seahawks head into Santa Clara on Sunday to play the 49ers. Seattle is more injured than they have been in the Pete Carroll era. Defensive backs are hurt. Running backs are hurt. Etc., etc. Here is an update for Sunday.

Want some injured professional football players? The Seahawks have several for you. Missing are potential future Hall of Fame players and other starters. Plus, if Seattle has a productive running back playing, they are certain to be injured quickly.

Here’s who is in and who is out – probably – for Seattle on Sunday.

Out

Kam Chancellor has been ruled out for Sunday. He is still suffering from a neck injury. Many reports have Chancellor out for the rest of the season. Maybe it is hopeful that Seattle feels it can keep updating weekly Chancellor’s injury. Can he actually come back this season?

Shaquill Griffin is also out after suffering a concussion against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday. At this point, 12s, if you are in the stands on Sunday, be prepared. Seattle might need to start asking fans to step in at defensive back for Seattle during the game.

Oday Aboushi will miss Sunday with a shoulder injury. However, Luke Joeckel might be able to return this week. It is possible that Ethan Pocic slides over to right guard in Aboushi’s absence. Joeckel would then play left guard again.

Doubtful

Mike Davis will probably miss Sunday’s game. This is too bad for a couple of reasons. One, you know he would want to do well against his former team, the 49ers. Secondly, he showed more promise in his short performance against the Falcons than Eddie Lacy or Thomas Rawls have shown all year.

Other news

In good news, Jarran Reed appears ready to be back this week. More depth on the defensive line is positive, especially since the Seahawks let Dwight Freeney go.

A bunch of players are listed as questionable, though: Duane Brown, Jimmy Graham, Reed, Bobby Wagner, Michael Wilhoite, Joeckel, D.J. Alexander and Dion Jordan. But coach Pete Carroll mentioned on Friday that he expects all those players to be available against the 49ers.
