The Seahawks have lost some key players for the season. What’s done is done. But some other players might be returning for Sunday’s game against the Eagles. Pete Carroll gave updates on Wednesday.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll updated some Seattle injuries on Wednesday. While Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor aren’t coming back, a running back might be. But not Chris Carson. Not this week.

Mike Davis

While Davis didn’t reinvent the position against the Atlanta Falcons two games ago, he did provide a spark. And he did so in a way that Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls have not in 2017. Davis ran strong and with agility. While it does not say a whole lot positive about the Seahawks running back group that Davis might be their best option, at least he might be back on Sunday.

According to Carroll, “We’re anxious to see if (Davis) can fit back in. Can’t tell you until he comes back after a couple days.”

Dion Jordan

Jordan has a chance to return this week as well. Currently, the defensive end is day-to-day with a neck stinger. I don’t know how you other 12s feel about the word “stinger” but if I never hear it again I will be happy. Chancellor, Cliff Avril…Do away with the stingers.

Malik McDowell

Carroll finally put to rest any chance McDowell will play this season. And this makes sense. It is hard enough for any rookie to have an impact in the NFL, but one who hasn’t practiced or played at all? That’s too much to ask.

While McDowell’s injuries are still mostly hush-hush, one can only hope he is able to play in 2018. Or at least live a normal life.
