The Seahawks of Seattle take on the Eagles of Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football. Seattle is 7-4 and the Eagles are 10-1. Seattle usually does well in home prime-time games. But the Eagles might currently be the best team in the NFL. Here’s what the 12th Man Rising staff thinks.

The Seahawks are up against a soaring Eagles team that is chalk full of confidence. Winning on Sunday night will be no small task. Seattle will have to score 35 points to have a chance in this one. With the Seahawks inability to run the ball and a menacing Eagles pass rush, I don’t see a great recipe for success. And it pains me to write this.

Prediction: Eagles 31 Seattle 21

The Seahawks face their toughest test Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, and they’ll pass it. They sure won’t run through it, we know that. Like every game this season, this will come down to the defense limiting big plays and Russell Wilson creating the same. Carson Wentz has faced just two pass defenses ranked in the top ten. Even with all the injuries, Seattle has enough to ground Wentz. On the flip side, the Eagles pass defense has been good, not great, and Wilson will exploit that.

Prediction: Seattle 27 Eagles 23

The Eagles’ stats are impressive both offensively and defensively, of course, and they have been blowing teams out. They have won their last three games by 28 points each. As many have pointed out, though, Philadelphia’s 10-1 includes only two teams that are currently above .500. And they lost one of those – week two versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles do have one think Seattle does not, however: A mostly healthy team. Last year Seattle defeated the Eagles pretty easily at home. In that game Seattle intercepted Wentz twice, one by Richard Sherman and one from Kam Chancellor. Those guys aren’t playing Sunday.
