The Seahawks had a huge win on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Seattle is now 8-4 and in good position to get to the playoffs. Several players were very good for Seattle this week. These three were the best.

Russell Wilson

Let’s be serious: The Seahawks would be 4-12 without Wilson. The quarterback has been involved in every Seattle offensive touchdown except one in 2017. Wilson, though, showed how valuable he was again against the Eagles. Three touchdown passes and no interceptions? Check. 31 yards on six carries and a quarterback rating of 118.6? That’s our quarterback.

I mean, c’mon…

Wilson was better than Carson Wentz. And Wentz was pretty good. Wilson should be the NFL MVP for what he has had to do in Seattle this season to get his team to 8-4.

Sheldon Richardson

Every week Richardson gets more comfortable in the middle of the Seahawks defensive line. Against the Eagles, Richardson had eight quarterback pressures and two tackles. Pro Football Focus gave Richardson a 82.8 grade on Sunday.

And there was this…

Richardson does the dirty work. The Seahawks defense is designed to get the linebackers and safeties a bunch of tackles. Defensive tackles are there to collapse the line. Richardson has done this extremely well for Seattle. Can Seattle re-sign him? Maybe not. He will be expensive. But Seattle needs to do everything it can to keep the big guy with the Seahawks beyond this season.

Frank Clark

The second best player on Seattle’s team against the Eagles was Clark. The biggest weakness Philadelphia had on its offensive line was left tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai. Clark was lined up often against Vaitai and had his second best game of the season. Excellent timing.

Against Philadelphia, Clark had two sacks and three tackles for loss. He had eight quarterback pressures total.

Clark did this…

…and was basically a physical freak all night.

After having a mid-year mini-slump where Clark had a three game stretch where he recorded no sacks and two tackles, the defensive end is wreaking havoc again. Thank goodness.
