How on earth can the Seahawks fandom be ranked anything but first?

FanSided has a fascinating article ranking the top 250 fandoms. You won’t like where the Seahawks 12s wound up. I’ll just say it wasn’t Bieberiffic.

Fansided covers a lot of fan bases besides the NFL. We cover virtually every major sport, movies, music, games, and more.  We’re a one stop shop for practically everything and anything you like. Last year the editors of FanSided thought it would be a lot of fun to pit all of these fan bases against each other and rank them, from 250 all the way up to number one. We all love to see just where we stand, right?

And the editors have done it again for 2017. If you haven’t seen the rankings, you really need to do so. It really is a great list, with excellent articles on each subject. If you don’t believe me, give the article on the Seahawks a read. Great, right? Should be, as our own wise and witty Lee Vowell wrote it.

There is no way the Seahawks fans should be this low

The problem comes up with exactly where the 12s are ranked. So here’s the spoiler, in case you haven’t read the article: the Seattle Seahawks amazing fans are ranked 56th in all of fandom, and seventh in the NFL. I apologize if your blood pressure just spiked.

As Lee wrote, 12s are so amazing they had earthquake scientists scrambling when their seismometers went off. Twice. They found the epicenter at CenturyLink Field. Please show me the team, movie, band, or celebrity that has done that even once. And as also mentioned in Lee’s write-up, the Seahawks retired the uniform number 12 in honor of their fans over 30 years ago. You don’t see that too often, now do you?

For the record, the North Carolina Tarheels fans are ranked ahead of 12s, at 55. I can tolerate that, although I don’t agree. But Justin Bieber at 54? Sorry, there goes your blood pressure again. You might want to get that checked.

So 12s, feel like bragging you beat out Celtics fans? Or more like screaming that you finished behind fans of The Bachelor? Let us know. And no, I can’t figure out why the Bachelor has any fans either.
