The Seahawks play the Rams on Sunday in Seattle. This is the game that could decide whether Seattle wins the division or misses the playoffs. Here’s how some of 12th Man Rising’s staff sees the game, plus some national media predictions.

Andrew Larkin

In what might be one of the biggest regular season games in years, the Seahawks have a chance to take control of the division race with a win over the Rams. Lose this game and the season is all but over. Win, and they’ve got a good chance at a playoff birth. The Seahawks defense is being held together with scotch tape right now. But the offense is finding ways to put up points, thanks to Russell Wilson’s magic tricks. At home in December with so much on the line, I’ll take the Seahawks.

Prediction: Seattle 27 Rams 23

Todd Vandenberg

After last week’s debacle – by which I mean my prediction – I’ll say Todd Gurley goes off for 170 combined yards. Jared Goff will play well, not at the messianic Blake Bortles level, mind you, but well. Say, two touchdowns and just one pick. But this time, Russell Wilson wears his game manager hat often enough to avoid the mistakes from last week.

Prediction: Seattle 19 Rams 17

Lee Vowell

I am always for the Seahawks. Always. But they will not win this game. Seattle simply has too many injuries. And if Bobby Wagner does play, he won’t be 100 percent. No Kam Chancellor, no Richard Sherman, probably no K.J. Wright and a hobbled Wagner. This is all is needed for a Rams win. I do think Russell Wilson will make things happen as always, but not enough to pull out a victory.

Prediction: Rams 28 Seattle 17

National media

Brady Henderson of ESPN has the Rams winning 24-21.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is taking the Seahawks 27-24.

The majority of panelists at our parent company, Sports Illustrated, choose Seattle to win.

Chris Simms of Bleacher Report has the Rams winning 24-23.
