The Seahawks take on the Cowboys on Sunday in a game that might be meaningless by the time it starts. Still, predictions must be made and here is what the 12th Man Rising staff and some national people think will happen.

The Seahawks are coming off one of the worst home losses in franchise history. The team’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread and a road game in Dallas isn’t necessarily helpful.  I think the Seahawks play better after being embarrassed last week, but it won’t be enough. All I want for Christmas is to be dead wrong about this game, but I think the Seahawks come up short.

Prediction: Dallas 31 Seattle 21

Todd Vandenberg

The season is on the line for the Seahawks in Dallas. For the third straight week, they face a top running back (Fournette, Gurley, now Elliott). But this week, Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright are healthy. The Cowboys don’t have the pass defense of either the Rams or Jaguars, so expect to see Number 3 stay vertical.

Prediction: Seahawks 23 Cowboys 19

Lee Vowell

Hardly anyone is picking the Seahawks to win in Dallas on Sunday. And why would they? Ezekiel Elliott returns and Seattle hasn’t stopped the run the last two weeks. The positive is that the Cowboys pass defense isn’t great and Seattle can only really throw the ball offensively.

I do not think that Seattle’s run is over for being a contender. But I do think their season, for all intents and purposes, comes to an end on Sunday.

Prediction: Dallas 28 Seattle 20

National media

According to Seahawks.com, only three of 23 “experts” at USA Today, CBSSports.com and ESPN.com are picking Seattle. I wonder when the last time that would have happened? 2010?

ProFootballTalk.com has two writers who don’t see Seattle coming within 10 points of the Cowboys.

The Dallas Morning News actually has one writer picking Seattle. Interesting.

Athlon Sports thinks that Dallas wins in a blowout.

Hopefully Seattle can prove most people wrong and win. The Falcons, hopefully, will lose. And Christmas would be happier if these things happen.
