Oh, but there was so much more to come

Then we have the whole Earl Thomas “Come get me” incident. If you missed this firestorm, after the game it was reported Thomas visited the Cowboys locker room and told coach Jason Garrett he wanted to play for Dallas. Just think, if he had talked to Brad Garrett, this wouldn’t have been such a big deal. Well, instead of screaming about it, let’s see Earl’s comments about this:

From what Thomas said, he went to visit Dez Bryant, and happened to see the Cowboys coach. He clearly stated “right now I’m in my prime”, and whenever the Seahawks “kick him to the curb”, he’d like to finish his career in Dallas.

Was the timing a little weird? Right after a huge win, sure. But he was in the Dallas locker room, after all. Think about that for a second. You just eliminated the other guys from a chance at the playoffs, and you decide to go hang out with your boy on that team. Earl does and says what he wants. He lives in the moment.

The NFL is a business. Eventually, anyone can be kicked to the curb. Joe Montana went to Kansas City, after all. I have no problem with Earl Thomas saying that he’d like to eventually end his career in Texas. A lot less problem than Bobby Wagner had with Thomas talking about his game after the Rams loss. And we see how terrible the defense played, right? This is nothing to worry about, 12s.

It’s one thing to be realistic and call out Russell Wilson on the rare occasion when he screws up. It makes perfect sense to consider salary cap and age and contemplate trades of players like Earl Thomas. It’s entirely another thing to say they’re done, and that star players should be traded because they talk about where they’d like to go near the end of their careers. For the 99.9 percent of 12s that believe, one last reminder of the great Christmas present we received from Justin Coleman:

Genius. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, 12s!
