How the Seahawks will be 4-0 heading into the October showdown with the Rams
Seahawks get a home game at last
Not only will Seattle get a home game, they’ll get their third win. The Dallas Cowboys visit on September 23rd, but it isn’t easy to figure out which Cowboys team will show up. Will it be the playoff team of 2014 and 2016, or the mediocre team of 2017? (No way they’ll be as bad as they were in 2015). Yes, Ezekiel Elliot sat out six games last year, but the ‘Boys were only 6-4 in his starts. Quarterback Dak Prescott was still good, but fell off considerably from his rookie season.
On the defensive side, Terence Watson writes on FanSided’s Cowboy site, thelandryhat.com, Dallas fans have high expectations this year. Watson believes that the biggest improvement actually took place off the field:
"This team was in need of a spark on defense and the biggest may come from coach Kris Richard. This might be the biggest Cowboys signing of the off-season. Right away you can see that he has brought a new attitude and energy to this defense. Players respect him and flock to him."
You’ll get no jokes about Seahawks cast-offs here. Richard is an excellent coach, but I do think it was time for a new approach in Seattle. He will make a difference in Dallas, but not enough for this game. If the Seahawks needed a boost, they’re getting one with the suspension of defensive end David Irving, as detailed by our own Lee Vowell. The Cowboys don’t quite have the same luster they did back in 2016. And with Seattle at home, this is a big win. Look for Bobby Wagner to dominate this game. Seahawks 19, Cowboys 6.
