Russell Wilson flies helicopters and plans to play into his 40’s, but those are far from the things that really make the Seahawks quarterback Mr. Unlimited.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is most decidedly a pretty cool cat. Mr. Unlimited has been flying helicopters since 2016. Just last year he announced he intends to play well into his 40’s. He made a point of saying he wanted to do that in Seattle, too, so that has too make 12s happy.

Granted, those are pretty cool. Watching Wilson play in Seattle for the next 15 years or so would be incredible. Incredibly expensive for the Seahawks, too, but that’s an issue for another day. All we care about is seeing Wilson make incredible play after incredible play. In 2017, he set some amazing records.

For starters, 2017 was Wilson’s sixth straight year with a winning record. No quarterback has ever started their career with six straight winning seasons. Not Montana, not Marino, not Manning. Not Brady or Rodgers, either. Russell Wilson is it. I know a few of you are sputtering, “Tom Brady has never had a losing season!” And you’re right, he hasn’t. He also sat on the bench his rookie season. He got into one game, and completed just one of three passes. Obviously things turned out okay for the kid. But he had a year as an understudy. Wilson did it from day one.

Russell Wilson is Unlimited in the fourth quarter

It’s no surprise to anyone that follows the Seahawks that Russell Wilson is the king of the fourth quarter. His career passer rating is 98.8, second in NFL history behind Aaron Rodgers. In the fourth quarter, Wilson really heats up. First, let’s look at the competition. Because I know you’re wondering, Brady’s fourth quarter rating is 94.5. That’s pretty impressive, until you see that Aaron Rodgers’ rating in the fourth is 103.4. Which pales compared to Mr. Unlimited. His career passer rating for the final quarter is 109.5. In overtime it’s an unworldly 113.5. So stacked against the best, Russell Wilson dominates even them in the fourth quarter.

Last season was the showstopper for the Seahawks quarterback. He threw 19 touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, an all-time NFL record. Matt Ryan was second in this category last year. He threw nine touchdowns in the fourth.

Next: So who's the best QB in the division?

So when Russell Wilson decides to call himself Mr. Unlimited, yeah, I think we’re good with that. The scary thing is he should be even better this year. A better running game will give Seattle the balance they need for Wilson to be even more effective. I’m not saying he’ll have better numbers, as in more yards or more touchdowns. The whole idea is for him to be more efficient. And winning more games with less superhuman effort – well, that’s Unlimited.
