Seahawks Friday injury report: Bobby Wagner will play vs. Cowboys
By Lee Vowell
Good news (finally!) for the Seahawks. The best linebacker in the NFL, Bobby Wagner, will return versus the Cowboys on Sunday.
The Seahawks have had to deal with too many injuries to key players so far in 2018. We are two weeks in – two losses, of course – and Seattle has already seen Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright and Doug Baldwin miss games. And that is to name just three.
Thankfully, Wagner was a full participant in practice on Thursday. He appears to be ready to go for Sunday’s game versus the Dallas Cowboys. You hate to say that Sunday is a must-win game for Seattle. But Sunday is a must-win game for Seattle.
The Seahawks also look like they will get D.J. Fluker back on Sunday. The massive right guard should definitely help with the rushing game, should offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer choose to implement that little-known part of the offense. But Fluker is not a good pass-blocker. So Russell Wilson might still be in trouble. Or put himself in trouble.
Rookie corner Tre Flowers also fully participated in Thursday’s practice. That this is good news isn’t overly…well, good. Flowers had just an ok game in week one. He is Seattle’s best option at corner opposite Shaquill Griffin. That’s bad.
Missing practice and probably out against Dallas was Wright and center Justin Britt. Wright is still recovering from having his knee scoped before the season. Britt injured his shoulder against the Bears in week two. As guard Ethan Pocic also missed practice with an ankle issue, expect Joey Hunt to start in place of Britt against Dallas.
