The Seahawks defeated the Cowboys on Sunday 24-13. And though the offense did not produce a lot of yards, it was effective. Here is how the offense graded.

The Seahawks gained just 303 total yards and scored 24 points in Sunday’s win over Dallas. But the offense was so efficient that Russell Wilson and company looked quite good. This was by far the best the Seattle offense has looked in 2018.

Here are the grades on offense for the Seahawks against the Cowboys.

Quarterback

Wilson’s quarterback rating was 109.8 and he threw two touchdown passes. Seattle’s quarterback was sacked only twice as well. That Seattle chose to use Chris Carson so much really helped Wilson. But the quarterback was sharp with passes and got rid of the ball when he needed to.

Basically, Wilson played the perfect Brian Schottenheimer game. He was efficient and played second rank to a run heavy team. And Wilson’s numbers would have looked even better had he not have several passes dropped, three by Brandon Marshall. But there was this great throw and catch from Wilson to Marshall.

Grade: A-

Running backs

Schottenheimer finally chose to use his running backs, especially Carson, and the backs made the scheme pay off. Carson ran the ball 32 times for a bit over 100 yards. And Seattle never let up as they continued to run the clock in the fourth quarter. And Carson had a spectacular run on 3rd and 11 to basically end the game.

Rashaad Penny didn’t do a whole lot with just five yards on three carries. But at this point, the Seahawks don’t need much from Penny.

Grade: A

Receivers/tight end

Tyler Lockett is really fast. If Dallas didn’t know that before Sunday, they know it now. Lockett has three touchdown receptions in as many games. Once – and if – Doug Baldwin can come back from injury, Lockett’s production could be even better.

Marshall had a rough day with several drops. Jaron Brown, though, caught his first touchdown pass with Seattle on a well designed play that forced the Cowboys safety into a decision to go left or right. Either way, the Seahawks were going to score.

Tight end Nick Vannett had a solid day with four catches on five targets. And Will Dissly was a beast with blocking for Carson.

Grade: B

Offensive line

The Seahawks came into the game down Ethan Pocic and Justin Britt. Just like every week, there was reason for concern that Seattle’s line would perform poorly. But Hunt was good in place of Britt and J.R. Sweezy was decent in place of Pocic. Wilson was only sacked twice against a good Cowboys pass rush. And the line was good enough to get Carson over 100 yards.
