Seahawks healthy going into Chargers game week nine
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks are plenty healthy going into week nine. Seattle plays the Chargers at CenturyLink. Here is your injury updates.
The Seahawks held out several key players out of players this week due to some nagging injuries. Almost all of these seem simply as a precaution, though. K.J. Wright, Bradley McDougald and D.J. Fluker will all play Sunday. Chris Carson, though, may not.
Carson has either a hip or a groin issue. The official injury report has Carson listed with a hip injury. Coach Pete Carroll said Carson has “a little groin thing.” Maybe the fact that there are different reasons Carson was limited in practice is a good thing. Maybe he is fine and Seattle is just blowing smoke.
(Oh, I know. The NFL won’t allow a team to give misleading injury information. Trust me, it happens from every team every week, though.)
Carson is a game-time decision at this point, though. The Seahawks need him to play and play at the level he has been playing to win. Sure, Mike Davis was good against the Cardinals in week four in place of Carson. But Davis isn’t Carson. We all know that.
As far as the Chargers go, Joey Bosa is officially out. The defensive end is a disruptive force but has missed the entire season so far. Russell Wilson will be somewhat happy not to see Bosa on the opposite side of the line on Sunday.
Los Angeles will also be without defensive end Christopher Landrum and linebacker Kyzir White. Stud running back Melvin Gordon is questionable but has practiced in limited fashion all week. I expect he will play against the Seahawks.
