The Rams are a big favorite over the Seahawks on Sunday. Is this the line more about the play of Seattle or Los Angeles?

The Seahawks will lose on Sunday. This isn’t my hope, of course, but according to Odds Shark the Rams will beat Seattle in week 10 and do so fairly easily. Las Vegas has made Los Angeles a 10-point favorite at home.

But is the point-spread really just a matter of Vegas having little faith in Seattle’s ability or more about the Rams? Or maybe it is a bit of both?

The fact is that Seattle lost at home on Sunday to the Chargers in a game where Russell Wilson did not play well. Also, Seattle lost Chris Carson and Bradley McDougald and D.J. Fluker during the game. If any of these three are unable to play on Sunday, Seattle has little chance of pulling off a big upset.

The Rams lost for the first time in 2018 on Sunday to the Saints. Now the Rams get Seattle back in Los Angeles. The Rams are no longer playing for the NFC West title; They will win the division by a wide margin. But Los Angeles is trying to get home-field advantage in the playoffs this year.

Sunday’s loss by the Rams to New Orleans hindered their hold on controlling their destiny. Los Angeles will be extra-motivated against the Seahawks.

Next. Grades for the Seahawks in their loss to the Chargers. dark

So those who make the odds are probably right. Seattle will probably lose. But 12s had little hope in week five against the Rams and Seattle should have won. But since 1989, Seattle has been an underdog of 10 points or more 22 times. The Seahawks are 0-22 in those games straight up.
