The Packers are winless on the road. The Seahawks, though, are just 1-2 at home though. And oddsmakers seemed to have noticed.

Usually when an NFL team doesn’t have a win on the road they do not come close to be favored to win their next away game. But when the Packers and the Seahawks play in Seattle on Thursday, Las Vegas oddsmakers aren’t sure Seattle is certain to win.

According to Odds Shark, Seattle is just a 2.5-point favorite to beat Green Bay at home. Some of this may have something to do with Aaron Rodgers. Or maybe the fact that Seattle doesn’t win close games anymore.

The Seahawks have lost five games this year and all five have been decided by 8 points or fewer. For a team that used to win most of their close games, these losses are keeping Seattle from reaching the playoffs in 2018.

But even Odds Shark seems a bit perplexed by the spread. The site seems to not only think Seattle will win on Thursday night but will cover. Or as Odds Sharks states

"(Russell) Wilson’s track record on this stage along with the fact that Seattle is still a top-five ranked defense against the pass should make bettors feel confident in backing the Seahawks to cover the spread."

It appears, though, that lots more people making bets on the Seahawks versus Packers matchup have more faith in Aaron Rodgers than Russell Wilson as the line is closer than it should be. Wilson and Seattle, though, are fantastic in prime time games. In their last 19 prime time games Seattle is 17-2 straight up. That’s good stuff.

Of course, this is not your older brother’s Seahawks. Seattle has less talent and is less accomplished than in the previous five years or so. Their recent records don’t really translate to 2018. That said, Seattle can run the ball and the Packers have issues stopping the run. Seattle should win on Thursday, especially at home.
