The B

B is a weird grade, isn’t it? Especially for rookies in the NFL. It means you are doing some things well but also not helping the team as much as needed. This fits the player listed for the B grade incredibly well.

Rashaad Penny

Penny is the only player on this list who has gone from something possibly less than a C grade to a fairly solid B. It isn’t that Penny wasn’t making a lot of mistakes. He simply didn’t have an opportunity to make an impact.

But for a first-round pick, Penny needed to make an impact more quickly than he did. Still, in the last couple of games, Penny has shown the ability to be a lead back in the NFL. He ran for over 100 yards in week 10 against the Rams and those yards were legit.

And then against the Packers he did this…

If he had only kept his balance, it may have been a Beast Mode type run.

We will see a lot more from Penny. His rookie year will not be indicative of his career. He will make an impact on Seahawks games for seasons to come. The great thing is he will form a really good duo with Chris Carson for at least the next two years. Seattle might be the only team in the NFL trying to win by running the ball, but when a team has Penny and Carson, that makes running the ball worthwhile.
