The Seahawks try to move to 7-5 with a win over the 49ers on Sunday. And Las Vegas thinks Seattle will win easily.

The Seahawks have a good chance at the playoffs in 2018 if they continue to play well. Seattle cannot assume any games they have left on the schedule are automatic wins, however. Yet, Odds Shark has Seattle as a big favorite over the 49ers on Sunday.

Seattle is currently a 10-point favorite over San Francisco. The main reasons oddsmakers think that the Seahawks will defeat the 49ers this week has more to do with San Francisco’s issues than Seattle’s advantages.

The 49ers have had a terrible year with injuries. They lost promising quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for the season. But running back Jerick McKinnon is also out for the year. Plus, San Francisco may be without several other key players this week. The 49ers have injuries to the offense and defense and are limping into the final weeks of 2018.

Beyond the injuries, though, San Francisco has been unable to stop good passing teams. The 49ers have allowed 23 touchdown passes with just two interceptions this year. Signing Richard Sherman from Seattle this offseason has not helped.

There is also the fact that the Seahawks simply always beat the 49ers lately. Since the final matchup of 2012 between the NFC West rivals, Seattle has won 11 of the last 12 meetings. Only three of those Seattle wins have been decided by less than 10 points. This would seem to indicate that the point spread for Sunday’s game is about what should be expected with a Seattle win over San Francisco.

Another fact is that Russell Wilson and the Seattle passing game is beginning to hum. In six of the last eight quarters of Seahawks football, Wilson has been nearly perfect. The Buccaneers Jameis Winston was very good against the 49ers this past Sunday and Winston is not having a good season. Plus, Wilson is the better quarterback anyway.

Seattle should beat the 49ers on Sunday and improve to 7-5. With a Seattle win and a Washington loss to the Eagles, Seattle would be slotted to make the postseason. Now, Seattle just needs to finish strong to get there.
