The Seahawks need one more win to get to the 2018 playoffs. Oddsmakers think that Seattle gets that win against the 49ers in week 15.

Hi, 12s. It has been a wonderful last few weeks to be a Seahawks fan, hasn’t it? Not only has the 2018 exceeded expectations generally but, specifically, Seattle has won four in a row and with one more win the team will make the playoffs.

According to Odds Shark, Seattle is a 5.5-point favorite over the 49ers in San Francisco on Sunday. What this really means is that Seattle should win by more than a touchdown because the home team almost always gets 3 points.

And really, why shouldn’t the Seahawks win? Even in an atrocious outing for Russell Wilson and the Seattle passing game against the Vikings this past week, Seattle still won by two touchdowns. Of course, Seattle defeated the 49ers 43-16 two weeks ago when the defense wasn’t overly great.

If Seattle can come up with the same kind of intensity defensively that they had against the Vikings and Wilson can rebound to his normal self, the Seahawks will get the needed win over San Francisco. And it won’t be very close.

The 49ers, however, won against the Broncos this past Sunday. How? No one really knows. And why? San Francisco only hurt themselves with draft position with the win. But this also means the 49ers will have some level of confidence back against Seattle.

I expect Nick Mullens to try to find tight end George Kittle a bunch against Seattle. Kittle did have a decent game against the Seahawks two weeks ago. With even better coverage of Kittle by Bradley McDougald, however, the 49ers will be extremely limited.

And there is the bit about how Seattle has defeated San Francisco 10 straight times. There is no reason really that Seattle should not make it number 11. And with that win, 12s can start thinking about purchasing playoff tickets.
