The Seahawks play the Chiefs in Seattle on Sunday night football this week. To find out more about Kansas City, I asked Matt Connor of Arrowhead Addict five questions.

The Seahawks are not facing a must-win game on Sunday. Should Seattle lose, that must-win game comes in the final week of the season against the Cardinals. Still, if Seattle can win they will be in the postseason this year.

The Chiefs, though, are led by excellent young quarterback Patrick Mahomes. And Kansas City is even favored at CenturyLink. To find out more about this good Chiefs team, I asked five questions about Kansas City to Matt Connor of FanSided’s Chiefs blog, Arrowhead Addict.

Mahomes’ success in 2018

12th Man Rising: Patrick Mahomes is having an MVP-type season in his first full year as a starter. Is his success what you expected in 2018 and what makes him so good?

Matt Connor: No one expected this at all, and anyone who says otherwise is using some revisionist history. I think many expected him to be a great rookie starter under Andy Reid and that the two could potentially be a good fit, but no one foresaw the next great coach/quarterback duo. If you list several of the best characteristics of the some of the NFL’s best quarterbacks of all time, Mahomes honestly owns three or four of them and that ranges from intelligence to arm strength to courage to work ethic. It sounds like a caricature, but the Chiefs really seem to have a generational talent on their hands.
