Seahawks vs. Cowboys: 5 questions about Dallas for Wild Card game
By Lee Vowell
Biggest surprises for the Cowboys?
12th Man Rising: Which players have been your two biggest surprises for the Cowboys this season?
Mullenax: Cornerback Byron Jones has been one. The former first rounder switched from safety back to corner in the offseason and it saved his career. The fact Jones was elected to the Pro Bowl without recording a single interception should tell you a lot about his coverage skills this season. The second, the trade for Amari Cooper. Sending your 2019 first round selection to the Raiders for a struggling wide receiver in Oakland was a major risk that paid off unlike any trade before it. Cooper’s presence in Dallas has literally saved their season.
Who wins on Saturday?
12th Man Rising: Who wins on Saturday and why?
Mullenax: I’m going to have to go with the Cowboys in this matchup. The fact they are playing in Dallas is huge. This is a team coming off an emotional high following an unlikely victory over the New York Giants last Sunday. In that matchup, they were able to will themselves to a win based solely on Dak Prescott’s arm. That’s something that hadn’t happened all season. The passing game has been far too inconsistent. I believe they use that momentum combined with the home-field advantage to pull off a low-scoring, close victory. Dallas Cowboys 20, Seattle Seahawks 16.
12th Man Summary
The Seahawks winning in Dallas will not be easy but Seattle can do it. As Steven Mullenax points out, Seattle has Russell Wilson and other teams don’t. Still, every one expects the game to be close.
I want to thank Mr. Mullenax for taking time out to answers five questions about the Cowboys. But hopefully this will not be the last Q&A I get to do about a Seahawks opponent for the 2018 season.
