I almost thought about not including Brandon Browner on this list at all due to his off the field issues in the last couple of years. But this list isn’t about what bad things a player may have done off the field. This is a list about players who have greatly helped the Seahawks on it.

And Browner was one of the players who made the “Legion of Boom” what it was. Browner began his professional career in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders. Seattle head coach Pete Carroll likes big cornerbacks. He must have relished the idea of bringing the 6-foot-4 Browner to Seattle.

In Browner’s 2011 NFL rookie season, he intercepted six passes and returned two for touchdowns, including one for 94 yards. He started all 16 games and was named as a Pro Bowl alternate.

Browner’s ability allowed Seattle to groom Richard Sherman and place him opposite Browner. The two cornerbacks using their size in press coverage was a big reason for Seattle’s defensive success.

Browner was twice suspended for PED use, though. The last suspension caused him to not be able to play in Seattle’s 43-8 Super Bowl win over the Denver Broncos. Browner left Seattle as a free agent after the 2013 season. He did return to the Seahawks for training camp in 2016, but did not make the team and was released.
