Seahawks should target one of these wide receivers in the NFL draft
Seahawks could opt for this improv talent
Kelvin Harmon, NC State. Harmon is the type of player coaches brag about as having a great football IQ. To be sure, at 6’2″ and 221 pounds, Harmon has the physical tools to excel in the NFL. He led the Wolfpack in touchdown catches as a freshman with five scores. He followed that up with 69 catches for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore, then had 81 catches for 1,186 yards and seven scores as a junior.
He’s definitely a physical player that wins far more battles for the football than he loses. He isn’t a particularly fast player, though. He ran a 4.60 40 at the Combine, easily the slowest of the five receivers listed here. His vertical jump of 32.5 inches is the least impressive as well. What he can do, though, is play football. He has shown a knack for finding holes in zone coverage. Moreover, he excels at breaking off his route when his quarterback is in trouble. Sounds like he’d fit the Seahawks perfectly.
He won’t be a barn-burner, and may be labeled “just a possession receiver”. His draft rankings reflect that. I’ll take a player that can make that big catch in tough situations any day.
