September

The Seahawks start with four games in September. The off-week does not happen until November. That could be good if Seattle is trying to overcome some injuries but bad if they have built some momentum going into the third month of the season.

But let’s focus on September for now. Seattle has two games they should win and two games in which they could win. But this is the NFL, of course, so Seattle could win all four September games or lose them all. That last bit would be bad.

Week one at home versus the Cincinnati Bengals, September 8th at 1:05 pm PT

Let me be straight up, if Seattle cannot beat the Bengals at home in week one then the Seahawks will not make the playoffs. Russell Wilson is the best offensive player on the field and Bobby Wagner will be the best defensive player on the field. The Seahawks have the better special teams as well. Seattle will win its first game. If they don’t, the season will be awful.

Prediction: Seahawks 27 Bengals 17

Week two on the road versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, September 15th at 10 am PT

Pittsburgh may have lost some key players, like Antonio Brown, but they are still a dangerous team. The Steelers have a young and athletic defense and Pittsburgh is always tough to beat at home. Plus, the Steelers may be extra motivated to prove they can win after losing Brown and Le’Veon Bell.

Prediction: Steelers 24 Seahawks 20

Week three at home versus the New Orleans Saints, September 22nd at 1:25 pm PT

The Saints got robbed in 2018 in the playoffs as we all know. They also let the Vikings score a fluke touchdown in the 2017 playoffs. The last two years, the Saints might have won the Super Bowl. Drew Brees and New Orleans is really good. In fact, they are probably better than Seattle. Still, this game is at CenturyLink.

Prediction: Seahawks 27 Saints 24

Week four on the road versus the Arizona Cardinals, September 29th at 1:05 pm PT

Here’s my concern. The Cardinals on paper have no business beating Seattle. But this will be the Seahawks first division game of 2019 and Arizona will be extra-motivated with new quarterback Kyler Murray. Seattle is the better team, but sometimes in the NFL the lesser team wins at home. But the good thing for the Seahawks is Arizona will have no Patrick Peterson as he will be serving his suspension for taking bad drugs.

Prediction: Seahawks 30 Cardinals 21

So I am predicting Seattle goes 3-1 in September. The Seahawks are usually a good second half team so if they start 3-1 then that is a very good sign.
