1. Russell Wilson – Seattle Seahawks

The question anyone should ask about who the best quarterback in the NFC West is, Which quarterback would make one of the other teams better? Would Goff, for instance, make the Seahawks a Super Bowl favorite simply by being on the team? No. Neither would Garoppolo or Murray.

But if you put Wilson on the Rams in 2018, Los Angeles could have easily won the Super Bowl. I have a friend who covers the Patriots. He told me prior to Seattle’s win in Foxborough in 2016 that his biggest fear was that the Patriots would not be able to react to Wilson’s improvisation and at times would simply stand around waiting to see what Wilson makes happen. And that is what happened. Seattle defeated the Patriots 31-24 when Wilson threw for 348 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Wilson is 2-1 against New England, and as we all know, should be 3-0. This is the kind of quarterback Wilson is. He has no fear against any team and is able to lift his team over better opponents. Maybe this wasn’t expected of Wilson earlier in his career as he could rely on a great defense to make the Seahawks the best team in the NFL.

But does Seattle go 10-6 in 2018 with nearly any other quarterback in the NFL other than Wilson? No. Russell Wilson is an elite quarterback. He makes the most of his ability and makes his team reach the maximum of their ability. This is what any NFL quarterback at their best would do. And Wilson does it better than any quarterback in the NFC West.
