Seahawks 53-man roster projection prior to preseason game one

Special teams
Kicker: Jason Myers
Punter: Michael Dickson
Long-snapper: Tyler Ott
Returner: Tyler Lockett
The Seahawks have three areas that are truly a strength. Clearly, Russell Wilson is better than nearly any other quarterback in the NFL. Seattle’s linebackers are the best unit in the league. And Seattle might have the best special teams specialists in the NFL too.
Myers is coming back to Seattle after being in training camp with the team last year. Seattle let Myers walk in favor of Sebastian Janikowski. Big mistake. Myers went on to have a Pro Bowl year with the New York Jets, including making six out of seven kicks beyond 50 yards.
All Dickson did in his rookie season was be named First-Team All-Pro by the Associated Press. He is a perfectionist who might just be better in his second season. Dickson will be punting for the Seahawks for the next 154 years.
Ott is so good at his job that Seattle just signed the long-snapper to a multi-year extension. This makes sense as both Dickson and Myers are signed with Seattle through at least 2022. Consistency with the snap makes kicking or punting the ball a lot easier.
Finally, Lockett is a Pro Bowl player when returning kicks or punts. Since he will have a lot more responsibility in the pass game this season, it will be interesting to see if Seattle gives him a slight break in the return game too.
