Offensive line

Starters: LT Duane Brown, LG Mike Iupati, C Justin Britt, RG D.J. Fluker, RT Germain Ifedi

Backups: Phil Haynes, George Fant, Ethan Pocic, Jordan Simmons

Cuts: Joey Hunt, Jamarco Jones, Jordan Roos, among others

I think it says something about the growth of the Seahawks offensive line talent in the fact that some of the players they will cut this year are not bad players. That means the players that Seattle is keeping can be pretty good.

Brown is one of the best left tackles in the NFL. Iuapti and Fluker can be good guards but are likely to miss at least six games between them. Britt’s best year was in 2016 but he is still solid. Ifedi was much better in 2018 than in previous years and with another year under offensive line coach Mike Solari could be even better.

I have a difficult time thinking Pocic is good enough to make the team as he was terrible last year. But so far in training camp, Pocic has been running with the first team since Iuapti is missing time with a foot injury. Fant is a definite to make the squad. Haynes is too, if healthy. Simmons was decent in limited time last year.

Hunt will be a great coach one day and isn’t a bad backup, but Seattle likes more versatile players and Pocic staying on the team probably displaces Hunt. Jones still has a decent chance to make the team, but he would have to do so in place of Pocic.
