The Seahawks play the Vikings in preseason game two for 2019 on Sunday. Here are three quick hits on whom to watch when Seattle wins.

Seattle plays the Vikings in a meaningless game on Sunday for preseason game 2. This is only meaningless, of course, for those players already assured to make the Seahawks roster. Or is it? Some players might to prove their merit heading into this season.

Without further ado, here are three quick hits on players who 12s should keep an eye on on Sunday.

Paxton Lynch

OK, like duh. Lynch can establish himself as Russell Wilson‘s backup for 2019 if he has two more great preseason games and one needs to be against Minnesota. Geno Smith is sidelined after having surgery for a cyst on his knee. Seattle brought in J.T. Barrett simply to make sure Wilson doesn’t take too many snaps where he might get hurt, so Lynch might see a bunch of reps Sunday.

Lynch was excellent in the first preseason game against the Broncos when he was playing against backups of backups. Can he prove his worth against better competition? You will have to tune in and see.

Shaquill Griffin

Preseason NFL defenses are vanilla. Sometimes, though, you can gather some info on how a player is approaching the new season. The Vikings have two good receivers and Griffin will face one or both of them. He has promised to be better this year but will he?

If Griffin can turn into a near Pro Bowl player for the Seahawks in 2019, and opposite corner Tre Flowers can continue his evolution, then Seattle will get back to being a very good defense. If Griffin doesn’t take the proverbial next step, however, Seattle might be doomed for a few years. We might see how much he has developed this offseason on Sunday.

Jazz Ferguson

Ferguson, like Lynch, was great against the backups of backups for the Broncos. He is a big receiver with some athleticism. But he was also told to go in college by LSU and he came into offseason workouts overweight. One has to wonder about his drive and mental makeup.

dark. Next. Does Marquise Blair equal Kam Chancellor?

In training camp, however, Ferguson has been really good and is in shape. He seems to know how to use his size to get open. The question against the Vikings is how will Ferguson do against better competition because most likely Ferguson will play earlier in the game against good players.
