There won’t be a lot to learn from the Seahawks last preseason game of 2019 on Thursday when they play the Raiders. But here are three reasons to watch anyway.

Who will you see and for how long when the Seahawks play their most meaningless of preseason games on Thursday against the Raiders? That remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, though, if you happen to see a starter or two playing, take a quick photo because they won’t be out there long. Kind of like the dog in the movie Funny Farm.

Still, there are reasons to watch Seattle take on the Oakland/Las Vegas team. It doesn’t matter who wins, just like any preseason game. But I’d rather see Pete Carroll’s happy mug after a win than Jon Gruden’s Chucky face after a win (or loss, for that matter). And Seattle still has players battling for roster spots.

Three reasons to watch Thursday? Here you go.

Marquise Blair!

Blair is expected to play on Thursday after sitting out this past weekend’s Chargers preseason game with back spasms. He had to leave the previous game against the Vikings early after falling awkwardly on his back. The rookie safety might be a starter by the end of the season but he has to prove he can stay healthy first. Thursday should be exciting seeing him play against backups.

C.J. Prosise!

Prosise, the little seen fourth-year (seriously!) running back out of Notre Dame, has shown short flashes of brilliance followed by long stretches of inactivity due to one of his 13 injuries since he joined the Seahawks. He was great against the Chargers’ backups. Can he be healthy and good against the Raiders’ backups as well? If he can, he will make the 2019 roster. Until he ends up on the injured list.

Next. Seahawks roster projection before the Raiders game? Here's one.... dark

John Ursua!

Ursua is going to make the team. Trust me, he is a lock. But it is still going to be fun to watch him play as it almost always will. Whenever I am going through lack-of-Doug Baldwin withdrawals, I just watch Ursua. He has nowhere near the experience or NFL success of Baldwin, but give him time and he might get halfway there. And halfway to Baldwin will be a decent career.
