Offense

Before I get into the individual units, I should definitely give accolades to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Unlike week one, he adjusted more quickly to what the opposing team was trying to do defensively. In the game against the Steelers, Schottenheimer started calling plays to get the ball out of Russell Wilson’s hand more quickly. It worked perfectly.

Quarterback

Well, what can one way truly to say to give the essence of what Russell Wilson did against the Steelers? He made reads quickly, was accurate on his throws, ran when he was supposed to and led the Seahawks to a win. Wilson was 29 of 35 for 300 yards and three touchdowns. He, as he often is, was the best player on the field.

Grade: A

Running backs

Chris Carson ran hard but fumbled twice. He needs to stop doing that. Seattle simply will have to replace him should he continue to cough up the ball. If he doesn’t fumble when and where he does, the game is not nearly as close. If Rashaad Penny isn’t really good, though, the game could be in doubt. But Penny had a 37 yard touchdown run that was the very reason Seattle chose him. He was fast and powerful and awesome.

Grade: B- (because of Carson’s fumbles)

Wide receivers/tight ends

Tyler Lockett caught a career high 10 passes and looked like a number one receiver. Will Dissly caught five passes and two for touchdowns. He looked like a number one tight end. And D.K. Metcalf looked tremendous on a post pattern for a touchdown. Still, Seattle needs other players to step up, like Jaron Brown. But in week two the receivers were good enough to get the win.

Grade: B+

Offensive line

The line was terrible early as Wilson was under pressure in four of his first seven drop backs. Germain Ifedi had three penalties and looked a bit more like 2017 than 2018 and that is bad. To be honest, the line was supposed to be a strength and it hasn’t been so far in 2019. If it doesn’t get better, Seattle will not make the playoffs.

Grade: D+
