Seahawks should worry that Teddy Bridgewater is the Saints quarterback

The Seahawks may not be facing the Saints with Drew Brees in week three but Teddy Bridgewater brings his own concerns for the Seattle defense.
Maybe 12s think they can rest easy that Drew Brees of the Saints will not be facing the Seahawks on Sunday. Brees is a future Hall of Famer and worthy of the fear he puts in many opposing defenses. But his backup, Teddy Bridgewater, knows a few things about facing Seattle in pressure situations and will have no fear on Sunday.
In 2015, a healthy Bridgewater faced Seattle twice. He lost both times. The first was a 38-7 loss that was ugly. Bridgewater played for the Vikings then and that team was not as good as the Saints are now.But in the playoffs in the same year, Minnesota should have beaten Seattle except for Blair Walsh‘s hideous miss of a make-able field goal in the end.
In that game, in freezing conditions, Bridgewater went 17 of 24 for 146 yards and ran for 21 more. He was good in awful conditions and didn’t seem nervous in the playoffs. Bridgewater is a cool character and he will not let CenturyLink’s 12s rattle him. That is bad.
Against the Steelers backup, Mason Rudolph, in the second half of week 2, Seattle allowed Pittsburgh to gain yards if not a lot of points. Sure, Chris Carson’s fumbles helped the Steelers as much as it hurt the Seahawks. But if the same kind of things hold true in week 3, New Orleans will score points instead of just gain yards.
Even without Brees the Saints have weapons at running back and receiver. Rudolph didn’t have a lot of help but Bridgewater will. Seattle can’t rest on the Saints without Brees and might need to scheme for Bridgewater and his skill players just as much. Sunday’s win isn’t a given for Seattle. In fact, it is anything but.
