The Seahawks announced their inactives for week three versus the Saints. Seattle will be without Rashaad Penny and others.

The Seahawks will need to rely on C.J. Prosise a bit in week three versus the Saints. Seattle announced its inactives list and among the players who won’t play is Rashaad Penny. Penny injured his hamstring in practice late in the week and will not be able to go.

The good news for Seattle is that cornerback Tre Flowers is not inactive against New Orleans. Flowers also got banged up in practice this week. Seattle will need Flowers against a good Saints offense as Seattle does not have a lot of quality depth behind starting corners Flowers and Shaquill Griffin.

Other players who will sit out against the Saints are rookie receivers Gary Jennings and John Ursua. Both have missed a lot of the season. Ursua did play two snaps in week two against the Steelers, though. Both are mostly healthy scratches as the Seahawks don’t seem ready to rely on them for meaningful snaps.

Rookie defensive end L.J. Collier is also a healthy scratch. This in a way is good news, though. It means Ziggy Ansah, Seattle’s important offseason free agent signee at edge rusher, will play. Ansah might not see a lot of snaps but any that he does will be important viewing.

As expected, Seattle will not have guard Ethan Pocic, cornerback Neiko Thorpe or safety Tedric Thompson available either. All are dealing with injuries. As far as Pocic goes, however, 12s just have to hope that guards Mike Iupati and D.J. Fluker don’t get hurt because Pocic is their backup.

But at least Fluker is playing. He hurt his ankle last week against the Steelers and there was some question about whether he would play in week three. He is. And that is a very good thing.
