After three weeks, the NFC West is still in play for the Seahawks. But if they want to win the division they will need help.

First of all, I promise I am not joking. The Seahawks could still win the NFC West. Sure, the division is tough and Seattle currently sits third after three weeks into 2019 and this though Seattle has just one loss. Funny how a little thing like Seattle beating themselves in week three might mean they do not make the playoffs 13 games later.

But this is why you cannot compare games, little 12s. While the Seahawks are 2-1 and have an overall deficit of 3 points when it comes to points scored versus points given up, the powerful Rams are 3-0 and have scored just 1 more point than Seattle. The 49ers have scored 19 more points than the Rams and given up just 5 more points. Would anyone make the point that the 49ers would be the Rams by two touchdowns right now?

According to ESPN’s power rankings, the Rams are still the third best team in the NFL. Seattle is ninth and the 49ers are 11th. The Seahawks week four opponent is the Cardinals and Arizona is 28th in ESPN’s current ranking.

But here is the truth. Seattle cannot simply go out on the field Sunday and think they are better than Arizona and win the game. The Seahawks aren’t that good and the Cardinals aren’t that bad. Seattle has the better quarterback in Russell Wilson and that goes a long way. Arizona is terrible against the run and that is good for Seattle too.

But Seattle showed in week three that they can beat themselves and their margin for error is really thin. Seattle has had a lot of success against the Cardinals in Arizona lately, not having lost there since 2012. But every year every team is different in some way. Arizona could win if Seattle doesn’t play well.

Next. Seahawks grades are not good in week 3 loss to Saints. dark

As far as the Rams and 49ers in week four, Los Angeles plays the Buccaneers at home and Los Angeles is not going to lose that game. San Francisco gets the Browns at home on Sunday Night Football and that could be a tough contest for both teams. I wouldn’t be surprised if both the Rams and 49ers are 4-0 are week four. The question is, what is the Seahawks record after playing the Cardinals?
