The Seahawks beat the Cardinals in their best team effort of the young season. Multiple players stepped up their game, exactly what the team needed.

Seattle came to Glendale, Arizona a game behind both the 49ers and the Rams. This was a critical contest for the Seahawks, and not just to avoid falling further behind their rivals. They lost to the Saints in week three mainly due to self-destruction. They had some glimmers of hope in that game, but they’d have to play much better against the Cardinals. They did that in their 27-10 win.

Jason Myers staked the Seahawks to an early lead with a field goal, just his second attempt of the year. You don’t get many opportunities when your team scores touchdowns almost every time they’re in the red zone. Myers converted both of his field goal attempts in this game. I’m not going to complain if the Hawks score touchdowns instead of field goals, but nice work, Mr. Myers.

Michael Dickson recovered nicely from his woefully short punt against the Saints with a solid effort. He didn’t launch any moonshots, but he landed each of his four punts inside the Cardinals 20-yard line. One ball went out of bounds after a 51-yard flight and two others resulted in a fair catch. The only return of the day resulted in a one-yard gain when Ugo Amadi laid out the returner. After the debacle of last week, this was a solid effort by the special teams.
