Seahawks update their injuries before Rams game week five
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks, knock on wood, still remain relatively healthy five weeks into the season. Here is who might not make the game against the Rams though.
Hello, 12s. I hope you have thanked your stars or whatever you give thanks to about the Seahawks health this far into 2019. Sure, Seattle has missed a bit of Rashaad Penny and a little of Ziggy Ansah and so on. But mostly, Seattle has come through the season pretty well. So far. Not to jinx anything.
Going into Thursday night’s important NFC West division throwdown, Seattle will only possibly be missing Ethan Pocic and Duane Brown. Both these players are listed on Wednesday injury report as questionable. But let’s be real here.
Duane Brown, the most important player on Seattle’s offensive line, is going to play against Los Angeles. Brown hurt his bicep in week three against the Saints but played on Sunday. Maybe it is a short week, but Brown is going to play on Thursday too.
Pocic, on the other hand, is quite unlikely to play. He could be physically able to go, but if there is any question about his health he will sit. Every week, Seattle needs to have seven inactives. Pocic will likely be one of them in week five.
Not listed on the injury report but also likely inactive will be healthy scratches Gary Jennings and John Ursua. These two rookie receivers seem to remain on the team solely to take up space at this point.
The Rams, however, will definitely be without linebacker Bryce Hager and probably without former University of Washington safety Taylor Rapp. Los Angeles has listed Hager as Out and Rapp as Doubtful.
I still hold my breath every week that Russell Wilson stays upright and able to play. He has never missed a game and hopefully won’t anytime soon. Now let’s just hope I haven’t jinxed anything.
