Will Dissly

I wrote about Dissly becoming the greatest tight end in Seahawks history a couple of days ago. Through 9 games he has surpassed expectations. But the great thing is he is doing it so naturally. It doesn’t appear that Dissly’s numbers are outliers; He is performing excellently within the frame of the offense.

Through five games, Dissly is tied for the NFL lead in touchdown receptions with four. I will admit to you the fact that four through five games seems low, but the truth is the truth. At the pace he is on, Dissly will catch 13 touchdown passes this season. That seems pretty good to me.

Dissly is also on pace to catch 74 passes this year. That sounds an awful lot like Jimmy Graham numbers when Graham was a Seahawk. The huge difference being that Graham could only catch and not really block and Dissly was drafted to be a blocker and is a good one.

Dissly also might be Russell Wilson’s second-most trusted target after Tyler Lockett. Lockett could be a top three player for Seattle, too. If you wanted to argue that, go ahead. But I have Dissly on here because he can block and catch. And for someone still overcoming a serious petallar injury, Dissly may not even be near his peak. That is a very good thing.
