The Seahawks go on the road to face the 2-3 Browns. It isn’t very easy to figure out if they’ll face a very good team, or a terrible one.

The Seahawks will play their third road game of the season when they take on the Browns Sunday at 10 am Pacific time. So far, Seattle has done well on the road, beating both Pittsburgh and Arizona. Cleveland is just 2-3 and were completely dismantled by San Francisco. Despite this, it’s hard to write the Browns off as just another bad team, though. They’ve also had a couple of very strong performances. I’m not at all sure which version will show up to face the Seahawks.

The Browns have had not one, but two very bad losses. They opened the season with a lot of hype, and were a frequent pick to win their division. That talk quieted down quickly after the Tennessee Titans rolled over them 43-13. Cleveland gained almost 350 total yards, but the Titans picked off quarterback Baker Mayfield three times. It certainly didn’t make the Dawg Pound happy to see their team penalized 18 times for 182 yards. It’s not exactly easy to win a game when you give up that much to the opponent.

Their game against the 49ers resulted in another blowout loss, 31-3. Mayfield could barely generate any offense against the Niners. He was sacked four times, picked off twice, and completed just nine passes in all. As I wrote in my review of how our NFC West rivals did in week five, the Niners defense gave the Browns a proper beatdown.

Seahawks could face the good Browns

Based on those games, Seattle is in for a walk in the park. They might be, but Cleveland has been on the right side of a couple of solid beatings themselves. No sooner was the Browns hype train derailed than they got right back on track with a 23-3 smackdown on the Jets. I know, the Jets aren’t even close to a good team, but they did manage to hang 14 points on the Patriots. Mayfield threw for over 300 yards including an 89-yard bomb to a gentleman by the name of Beckham.

Okay, so maybe you’re not impressed by a win over the Jets. I get it. Does hanging 40 on the Ravens pique your interest? Yes, I thought it might. Cleveland scored 30 points in the second half of their 40-25 win over Baltimore. The Ravens only other loss was by five points to the Chiefs. They’re in a completely different league than the Jets. Okay, to be accurate, it’s just a different division, but you know what I mean.

Anyway, both wideout Jarvis Landry and running back Nick Chubb had monster games against their division rivals. Both players had over 160 yards of offense, and Chubb added three touchdowns. Mayfield threw for over 300 yards again as the Browns rolled up 530 yards of total offense. The Browns committed just one turnover while forcing three from the Ravens. You’ll win a lot of games that way. Although that didn’t work out against Los Angeles. Despite committing three turnovers to the Browns one, the Rams won, 20-13.

So which team will the Seahawks face Sunday? Will it be the Jekylls, who outscored two teams by a total of 35 points? Or will it be the Hydes, who lost to two others by a total of 58 points? Or maybe that strange in-between character that played just well enough to lose to the Rams? Your guess, 12s, is as good as mine.
