The Seahawks secondary has taken a large step back this season. Should Seattle trade for Denver Broncos star corner Chris Harris Jr.?

The Seahawks over the previous two seasons have stayed in the dime package over 55% of their snaps. After losing Justin Coleman in free agency and finally having a healthy linebacker corps with Bobby Wagner extended, Mychal Kendricks and K.J. Wright resigned. The Seahawks have primarily stayed in the base 4-3 package with all 3 linebackers on the field. What this package brings in quarterback pressure it hurts in passing coverage.  Would Harris be a fit for the new look defense?

Who is Chris Harris Jr.?

Harris came into the league in 2011, as an undrafted free agent. He has proven over the past 8 years to be one of the most durable players in the league missing 5 total games. Harris is coming off the 2018 season where he was ranked as the 3rd best cornerback in the league per PFF. This past April, Harris publicly announced he would request a trade if the Broncos failed to extend his contract.

The Broncos and Harris instead settled on an increased pay for the 2019 season allowing him to become a free agent once the season is over. The Broncos however are now sitting at 1-4. If things don’t turn around quickly, they will be forced into fire sale mode for all assets not named Von Miller. Rumors are swirling that Harris and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders are two players that are most likely to be on the move by the trade deadline.
