Seahawks grades on offense from victory over Browns
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks offense put up 32 points in their win over Cleveland in week six. Was that good enough to get good grades? Maybe.
The Seahawks are now 5-1. A big reason for that is quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson was good again on Sunday against the Browns. So was Chris Carson. And the offensive line did OK too. How well did the offense grade in Seattle’s defeat of Cleveland? Here’s how.
Quarterback – Russell Wilson
There shouldn’t be any more debate about whether Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL; He actually might be the best right now. Wilson had two more touchdown passes against the Brown and ran for another. He has yet to throw an interception this year. The Seahawks win game because Wilson is their quarterback and did so on Sunday because of Wilson. Wilson was 23 of 33 for 295 yards.
Grade: A
Running backs
Again, there was no Rashaad Penny. C.J. Prosise played and had what could have been a game-changing fumble near the 50 yard-line neat the end of the third quarter. Prosise was ineffective once again. But the Seahawks main running back is Carson and for the third straight week Carson ran for over 100 yards, finishing with 124 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown. Carson also had 4 catches for 35 yards.
Grade: B (A for Carson)
Wide receivers/tight ends
The Seahawks took a crushing loss when Will Dissly was lost (most likely) for the season with an Achilles injury. On the bright side, Tyler Lockett caught all five of his targets for 75 yards. Jaron Brown had two touchdown catches. Seattle’s receivers were good enough.
Grade: B+

Offensive line
The line was missing Duane Brown and D.J. Fluker and still gained 454 total yards and Wilson was sacked three times but for just 11 total yards. Seattle also held the ball for 33:41 to Cleveland’s 26:19. The line may not have been great but it was good enough.
